Meetings are now held at The New Mechanics, 3 North Sherwood Street, Nottingham. Members and visitors are very welcome. A donation is expected and refreshments are available at the venue. Anyone who has difficulty with steps will be pleased to know that meetings will be held on the ground floor. The new venue is approximately 250 yards from the old site on Trinity Square.
To reach the new meeting place from Victoria Centre Clock Tower, with your back to the tower you will see the YMCA building on Shakespeare Street. Proceed along Shakespeare Street, past the fire station to the traffic signals. Turn right into North Sherwood Street, and the Mechanics is the second building on the left-hand side. The meeting room is past the reception desk, down a short corridor on the right hand side. The room is available from 19:00. Meetings commence at 19:30.

The New Mechanics is situated on the fringe of the city centre, and members from most areas should find it easy to reach using Nottingham’s comprehensive bus network. After 18:30 there is limited free on street parking in the area. There is 24 hour parking at the new Trinity Square car park on North Church Street and at the Victoria Centre car park accessed from Woodborough Road. Note that spaces can be at a premium when there are concerts at the Royal Concert Hall.
The Branch currently has vacancies for the posts of Branch & Fixtures Secretary and Web Correspondent. The secretary post can be split into Branch Secretary and Fixtures Secretary if required. The branch will be unable to continue beyond April 2011 unless these posts are filled. Any member in the branch area who would be willing to assist in these posts or in any other way should contact the acting chairman and secretary by email or telephone (details above).
