Visit to Leighton Buzzard Railway

Visit to Leighton Buzzard Railway

Arrangements have been confirmed for a visit to the Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway on Tuesday 27th July, a day when the railway is closed to the general public. Our special train, hauled by Baldwin 4-6-0T No. 778, will make 2 round trips over the line with 1 or 2 photo runpasts en route on each trip. Behind-the-scenes visits will be available at both termini and as many of their locomotives as possible will be moved outside into photographable positions.

Members are asked to arrive at Pages Park station by 11.00. Photographic false departures will take place from 11:15 followed by the first round trip starting at 11.30. A lunch break will be taken between the 2 round trips (from 13:15 to 14:30) and the fixture will end by 16:00.

The fixture is being arranged for the society by the Merseyside Chester & North Wales Branch. Expressions of interest will be welcomed by Geoff Morris (01244 376808) asap. The cost per head will be £17.50. Please send a cheque payable to "Railway Correspondence & Travel Society" to Geoff to secure a place together with an SAE (or email address) for acknowledgement of receipt of the cheque.
