Narrow gauge railways somehow have a life of their own, confined to their geographic location for obvious reasons. It’s only when one discovers a particular line that the romance is born. Andrew Thompson will share his passion for the “Ratty” with us in this afternoon’s presentation.

Keith Sanders
Keith Sanders is one of the rare breed of railway photographers who succeeds in being in the right place at the right time, AND capturing the event with photographs of the highest quality. His presentation will highlight many railway events of the past couple of years which may otherwise have passed unnoticed.

A spring evening, pleasant surroundings, congenial company and an excellent meal: what better way to indulge in some informal railway banter with friends old and new. Venue and Cost TBA.

Edinburgh		Glasgow’s Railways in the 1950s
Hugh Gould, Society President
Hugh Gould began his railway career in the 1950s as a management trainee in Glasgow. In those days the route to management involved the gaining of experience on the ‘shop floor’, with the result that Hugh can tell many a hairy tale of railway operations ‘warts & all’. This evening’s presentation is sure to reveal many fascinating angles of railway life as it was in the ‘50s.

Edinburgh meetings are held at Quaker Meeting House, 7 Victoria Terrace, Edinburgh EH1 2HE, commencing at 19.30 All meetings are free, but a collection to defray expenses is made at the close of the meeting.

Edinburgh - Afternoon meeting meetings are held at Quaker Meeting House, 7 Victoria Terrace, Edinburgh EH1 2HE, commencing at 14.30 In January and February the branch meets on second Saturday Afternoon at 14:30.

Both Society members and non-members are very welcome to attend our meetings
