Our meetings are held at the Brighthelm Church and Community Centre, North Road, Brighton (300 yards from Brighton Station) at 7-30p.m. normally on the fourth Thursday of the month. The exception is December when we meet on the second Thursday.

To get to the Brighthelm Centre from Brighton Station exit the station through the front entrance and go straight ahead taking the left hand pavement. Proceed down Queens Road heading toward the sea front until you come to the second set of traffic lights at the junction with North Road. Cross the junction and turn left into North Road. The Brighthelm Centre is the building on your right. Turn into the passageway that is on your right. The passageway leads into a small park. The entrance to the building is on the left hand side in the passageway.

If arriving by public transport there are very few bus services that serve Brighton Station. Follow the directions as above. The majority of bus services serve Churchill Square Shopping Centre in Western Road. After alighting from your bus orientate yourself so that Churchill Square is on your right. Walk ahead to the traffic lights about 200 yards away. Turn right and walk about a further 50 yards to the Clock Tower. Turn left into Queens Road and continue towards the station. At the first set of traffic lights turn right into North Road. The Brighthelm Centre is the building on your right. Turn into the passageway that is on your right. The passageway leads into a small park. The entrance to the building is on the left hand side in the passageway.

For the visitor arriving by car Brighton is a mass of one way streets. The easiest way to find us is to enter via the A23 London Road. Visitors arriving from the east will probably find it more convenient to enter Brighton along the A270 and join the A23 at St Peters Church.

From the outskirts of Brighton proceed south along the A23 London Road. At Preston Park lead into the one way system following the signs for A23 Town Centre and Seafront. Two major landmarks are the railway viaduct and the fire station. Further on the A270 Lewes Road joins at St Peters Church. This large imposing building is floodlit. Continue into Grand Parade. The bus lane will join from the right and after about 200 yards you arrive at a set of traffic lights just before the Royal Pavilion. Turn right across the bus lane and the northbound lanes and head straight into Church Street. Take the fourth turning on the right, Spring Gardens. At the end turn left. The first building on the left is the NCP car park and the second is the Brighthelm Centre. Between the two is an alley way which leads into the Brighthelm Centre car park. Enter the car park and find a space.

Exit the car park around the left hand side of the building via a passage way. The entrance to the centre is on the right hand side. Visitors by car please register your car at reception. The receptionist will point the way to the Stanmer Room. There is a lift for those that need one and the building has access ramps.

Members and visitors are very welcome to join us at our meetings.

The room is open from 7 p.m. onwards. Generally tea and coffee are available during the break. Any amendments to this fixture list will appear in The Railway Observer. The hall has an on-site car park, a lift and good disabled access

A donation of £1.50p is sought to defray expenses. Tea or coffee with biscuits is free.
