Mystery Photographs

The Courtney Haydon Collection

The late John Courtney Haydon was a prolific photographer of the railway scene. His photographic archive was bequeathed to the society and members of the photo archive team are attempting to catalogue the collection which includes several thousand negatives about which we have little or no information. Additional photos will usually be posted on Mons., Weds. & Fridays.

NOTICEBOARD

Monday 31/1/11 I have set up a Yahoo Group as a discussion forum so that you may have a quick way of answering each others questions, rather than wait for comments to be approved. If you wish to join and receive the group e-mails the address to subscribe is rctsmysteryphotos-subscribe@yahoogroups.com Genuine contributors only please. If you are an RCTS member please include your membership number.

Wed.21st.Sept. Following a recommendation from the Society Webmaster please use the shortened form "Jct." for the word "Junction". This is in line with the standard R.O. abbreviations. Thank You

Saturday 1/10/11 - Re the "Location Box" Please remember to enter as precise a PHOTO location as you can in the "Location" box which is above the "Comment" area.

Friday 3/2/12 Re "G" Series 2xx Sequence I have had some difficulties with posting the "G-200" sequence in the correct order as I did not have access to the complete run but rather in out of sequence "Parts". Thus on Monday next (6/2/12) we have G-229 and then jump to G-292. G-230 to G-235 were posted between 30/11/11 and 9/12/11, whilst G-236 to G-249 were shown 24/5/10 to 28/6/10. At the moment I do not have G-250 onwards except for some in the G-290 range. I hope I have made matters clear and thank you all once again for all your comments and observations.

G-228, (31/35) This film seems to continue th tour featured in G-226/7. We are certainly at times on the ex-GC electrified route/s. (West Penistone Jct.?) I will leave this one to you! Apologies that some of these "G" series films appear to be slightly out of their proper order
