The cement terminal at Thornhill appears to have backed onto the Calder Valley line, which can be seen passing behind on the embankment. We are looking roughly south.

This is the view in the same location but 180 degrees from the last frame.

I'm not sure why the presflos have been placed here. The vehicles are top-load, bottom pressure discharge, and one of the hoses for that can be seen in the photo, but that platform on the left side would surely impede the operator coupling/uncoupling the hoses to the left side of the vehicles? The two discharge roads on the right are capstan-operated. I would have thought that was where they should have been placed? Anyone know the method of working?

This was originally the curve to Dewsbury West Junction, completeing the triangle.

location: Thornhill
The removed bridge in the right background carried the Midland Railway line to Dewsbury Savile Town Goods over the L&Y main line. It was built as part of the projected 'new line' from Royston Junction to Shipley, however the section up the Spen Valley and through Bradford was never built. As far as I know it is still in the same condition today.
