This is the NW portal of the 179 yard Earlheaton Tunnel viewed from Sands Lane Viaduct on our return journey. I think the route we are on is a cycle path today.

This shot would have been taken from the brakevan of the trip on the GNR Link line when leaving Railway Street Depot running toward Calder Viaduct & Dewsbury Cement Terminal. The tunnel carries the GNR main line under Earsheaton area, with former Earlsheaton station beyond.
