I think that we are emerging from under the 'Grid Iron' lines on the Up Circular Goods, looking approx south.

This could be bridge made famous in Eric Treacy's photographs, with the train heading out from Edge Hill past the site of the shed.

I agree with Dave, we are emerging from below the Edge Hill Gridiron lines [Wavertree Tunnel] & about to pass over the main line between Edge Hill to our right & Broad Green to our left.
