According to Six Bells site, on 14 October 1972, 5596 worked a Bahamas Loco Society "Welsh Marches" tour between Shrewsbury & Hereford, and the LCGB "Welsh Borderer" tour from Hereford to Shrewsbury. Note the double chimney it had at that time.

5596 Bahamas at Bulmers' Hereford, being serviced between arriving on the Bahamas Loco Soc special from Shrewsbury (and originating from Manchester) and returning north on the LCGB "Welsh Borderer", which started from Paddington. 14/10/72. The crimson lake paint was supplied by Humbrol, the equivalent of 14,000 of its little tins! To this day, preserved engines appear in different interpretations of this colour, authentic rendition of which is not helped by the way it changes according to the light.
