location: York Layerthorpe (Derwent Valley Light Railway)
A scene at the York terminus of the DVLR looking south - the station nameboard is visible just above the parked 'minivan' The near side of the gabled building is clad in corrugated iron and the gable is of mock half timbered construction with a rendered finish set on a brick base, the render and ironwork is painted cream and the roof is of asbestos/cement tiles finished in a terra cotta colour. The building behind the van is of more substantial brick construction

location: York, Layerthorpe

location: York
Looking south east, as can be seen there was no direct access from the BR connection to the platform line at Layerthorpe station, behind the photographer to the left a short neck led into the small engine shed. However subsequent frames seem to show that the train went round the corner and backed into the platform.
