Helpston Station (MR) still a very busy Level Crossing, the GN box is all that remains in this view controlling the level crossing as a whole, interesting to see a van "TRAPPED" between both the MR and GN crossings!

Helpston looking north, the train is approaching from the Stamford direction to Peterborough East. To the right out of sight is the 4 track GN main line. At this point today there are 6 running lines over one level cossing,controlled by the original GN box which is still there today.

Station closed to passengers 6 June 1966 so interesting to see it was still more or less intact some four years later. Although the signal box was Helpston West (to distinguish it from its GNR neighbour?), the station was plain Helpston, as there was no station at this point on the ECML.
