Methley South station, on the Methley Joint line twixt Leeds, Wakefield and Castleford. The line ahead joins the ex-LYR line to Castleford (Cutsyke) at Lofthouse Junction. Track to the RHS is the remains of the connection to the ex-NER Methley - Whitwood spur.

The line behind the photographer at this time treminated at Newmarket Colliery (Stanley, West Yorkshire) but would have carried onto a triangle at Outwood.
