Outskirts of Saltburn? Correct me if I`m wrong. Are the lines to the far right, the rails to Skinningrove Steelworks and the Boulby mine, the former coastal branch to Whitby? It`s many many years since I have been here!

location: Saltburn
Yes Sam, I think that we are just under a mile from the buffers at Saltburn and about 300 yds from the junction with the Skinningrove line, looking east. I think that the line on our left had been a short goods line, less than a mile, from Tofts to Saltburn West. The lines on our right would be the up main and (disused?) up goods. The signal prefix is 'L' Longbeck, it had been a humble level crossing box 2 1/2 miles from the terminus but was upgraded to control the rationalised layout at Saltburn.
