Blackburn station, looking north [?], before the radical alterations of .....?

Definitely Blackburn station, but I think that we are looking south west towards Preston. The original station train sheds were removed in 2000 and replaced by much more modern and modest facilities, although the listed main entrance building was retained and refurbished. Platform 4 on the right was removed and the platform we are standing on became No 4, originally with a bus shelter, but now with lift access and a proper waiting room.

Class 24 on freight. Station is oritentated east/west and I'm pretty sure this photo is looking west
