Q12.19. Standish Mineral Railway.

The OS map shows a disused railway leaving the west coast main line at approximately SJ577074 and proceeding for about 3 miles past Standish, formerly a station in Lancashire between Wigan and Preston. This was clearly not a branch of a main line company, but appears to have been the Standish Mineral Railway. Any details of the purpose and ownership of the line or sources of published information are requested.
