The Australian Railway Historical Society  Affiliated Society
Railway activities in Australia are given on this site. The Society has web pages for each State and for Tasmania and shows events both past and present.

The Continental Railway Circle.  R.C.T.S. member's site
The C.R.C. is a U.K. based group catering for enthusiasts interested in main-line, industrial and preserved railways outside of the U.K.. Regular meetings are held in London and Sheffield usually taking the form of slide or video shows also affording members to exchange news and gossip. The C.R.C. publishes the "Continental Railway Journal" and reports on current developments on railways worldwide. A useful feature is a link to a Yahoo Newsgroup giving members advanced notice of railtours etc.

Dutch Railway Enthusiasts Club
News, travel and useful contact addresses for railway and tram activities in Holland are shown. Included are links to other Dutch sites with some text in English.

The Finnish Railway Museum
The title only partly describes this site. There are many links to other Finnish railway organisations which we believe you will find of interest. For those who will not be visiting the museum this site has web exhibitions. Exhibition information, news, forthcoming events plus all other topics to be expected from a well-planned site. The text is in English.

The German Railway Museum
This site is excellent for gaining information of German railways past and present. Developments of the rail network, technical advances in rolling stock, descriptions of notable trains many enhanced with excellent pictures can be viewed. Locations of other rail museums in Germany are listed. Opening times and how to get there are shown.

This is a very comprehensive site for Italian Railway followers. Many pictures, drawings and descriptions are shown of current and past practice.

The New Gotthard Base Tunnel
A planned length of 35miles (57km) will make this new tunnel under the Alps the longest railway tunnel in the world. Built for fast transit speeds the journey time will from Milan to Zurich will be reduced of 3.5 hours by one hour. This site presents fact and figures for the project as well as photographs and links for further study if required.
