Railway Observer
Every month the R. O. publishes details and reports on British locomotive stock changes, Multiple Unit, Coaching and Freight stock changes. Meetings
The Society has 28 local branch centres where you can meet like minded enthusiasts and enjoy slide shows and lectures, improve your railway knowledge, add to your postcard and Colour Rail collections and take part in branch organised visits to railway installations.
Library
Books are available from the central Library on loan by personal visit or mail. In addition both the library and branches make available second hand books to purchase at very attractive prices. Often these include long out of print copies of both RCTS and other books. In addition the library holds a very extensive collection of working timetables which are made available on loan to members.
RCTS Books
The RCTS regularly publishes books mainly of an historic nature and has an enviable reputation for the quality and accuracy of its publications. When new books are published members have an opportunity to purchase at a discounted price.

Life membership is also available, at £ 420 for over 60's and £ 525 for over 50's (UK rates).
