Banking engine spur was on site of yard of Farringdon GN goods depot and replaced a spur just on other side of junction with widened lines some time in late 1950s. Change was made to enable longer freights to use route. Whole area to left of train was later used as a car park reached by a ramp down from Farringdon Street. Site now redeveloped.
