Jeremy Harrison gave us a thorough insight into locomotives which we have been fortunate to be able to see in service either on the main line or on various preserved standard and narrow-gauge railways throughout most of England and Wales, including the Isle of Wight, during the period.

Interesting shots included Metropolitan Railway locomotives No. 1 and electric Sarah Siddons working on ‘The Met’ and 30925 Cheltenham, a drawing of which spent many years on the cover of the Railway Observer.

Jeremy had been on many private charter visits and was able to obtain photographs on the preserved railways of the not so common variety and his standard of photography was superb. He has the knack of almost being able to produce a story out of his photographs with the inclusion of other items in his shots or his choice of scenic location.

We are grateful to Jeremy for retrieving the situation for us and producing a most enjoyable and interesting evening.
