Re: MORE TRAIN TRAVEL IN 1969.
I don't have any personal recollections from 1969 but I do have the ER PTT. To save a lot of typing, here's a link to the Napier Chronicles summary of the 1969 ECML service: http://www.napier-chronicles.co.uk/wtt69-70.htm Some of these were non stop through York including 0755, 1000, 1600, 1800 ex K...

Re: BR stock of steam locomotives 01/01/64 & 01/01/65
Various lists of steam locomotive allocations were published in Railway Observer, though not matching your requested dates. RO 02/65 page 44 WR and page 47 SR at December 1964 RO 06/65 page 184 LMR at April 1965 RO 08/65 page 268 ER, page 270 NER, page 272 ScR at June 1965 RO 02/67 page 40 BR at Jan...

Re: TRAIN TRAVEL IN 1969
This is the sort of question that ought to be generating long threads of reminiscences on this discussion board. 1969 is before my time, but only just, and I have the relevant ER PTTs. To get this right we need time of year, time of day and day of the week. I can't do the start of the journey from F...

Re: Pre grouping & BR naming committee / convention
The original source for this is the National Archives which holds British Railways Board papers. I've not gone back that far but they probably have papers for the "big 4" too. In the Modernisation Plan era locomotive names were approved by the Regional Boards. That's how the ScR and NER Deltics were...

Eastern Region mobile train heating vans ADE321071-8
Does anyone have any observations of the Eastern Region mobile train heating vans ADE321071 to ADE321078 with dates and locations please? Also does any member have a decent quality photograph of one of these vans that could be reproduced in Railway Observer to illustrate an article about them? With ...

Re: RAF Troop Train route 1958 March Cardington Bridgenorth.
I have found a reference to Cardington-Bridgnorth RAF specials in RO 10/60 page 306. Under Bedford-Northampton it says: "A special passenger train traverses the branch most Friday afternoons going from Cardington to Bridgnorth with RAF personnel: it is routed via Rugby, Stafford and Wellington." How...

1Y05 0526 NCL-KGX today 11 January 2020 was 67016 dragging MkIV set with 91132 on rear.
OTT map suggests MkIV set will work out on 1S17 1121 KGX-EDB.

Re: Survey / Questionaire
I don't recollect the results of this survey ever being published. Have I missed it or is it something that will never see the light of day?

I had not paid any attention to these, assuming that all LNER trains would be Azuma.
But 1S10 0830 KGX-EDB today 04/01/20 was a MkIV set dragged by a DB red class 67.
