Sorry to be a pain, but presume 'to' requests means 'two'?
Also what is is the 'report' referring to?

RHN Hardy
I have just heard of the death of Dick Hardy - a big loss to all the railway fraternity. Anyone who conversed with Dick, had correspondence with him, or heard him speak at meeting was recipient of a rare treat. One wonders how many of the current railway management are capable of rolling up th...

Ourdoor Visits - June 2016.
Due to a minor, but irritating glitch (my fault alone) the following outdoor fixtures are planned by the West Midlands Branch for this year, but they will not be in the RO. Statfold Barn Railway Enthusiast Day - Saturday 4th June. Donation to cover the cost and their charity - ?10.-- per person. Mem...

Re: 2016 AGM Coventry
Peter, always good to swell the numbers for what should be a very interesting AGM, with the proposed changes to be ratified. To be fair, the printed proposal in the latest RO package is very comprehensive, and covers all of the aspects so well presented by Terence Jenner at the last Officers Confere...

Re: RAILWAY HISTORY.
The possibilities as to what might have happened if nationalisation had occurred in 1919 are endless. For a start, whilst probably not as worn out as after WW2, all reports indicate that many of the companies, especially the smaller ones, were in a poor state, which would have had to be addressed in...

Re: Annual General Meeting insert
The AGM supplement is, so far as I am concerned, a very useful document and tool for all the membership to make use of. The reasons for it are as follows:- 1) Having the reports prepared and available beforehand enables the entire membership to see and read the various officers' reports before the e...

Re: Railway Magazine advert
Railfans seems to be the least offensive of the appellations applied to what most of us consider to be railway enthusiasts. For sure, even allowing for some fairly well known members of the media identifying their enthusiasm for the rail hobby, 'train spotter' still carries a somewhat downmarket tag...

Re: Death of member 13456 Alan C Donaldson
Really sorry to here about Alan's sad demise.
A good friend and very knowledgeable, he will be greatly missed, not only by members of his own Branch, but by all of us who knew and respected him for the amount of work he put in, ovber the years, for the Society.

Re: Dead or Dying Already?
Re the points/signal problems on the ex-GWR main line, a question:- On the basis that point and signal problem have occurred since railways began, the old style railway had teams of maintenance staff reasonably close at hand, to deal with such problems and did so pretty quickly, There was also the p...
