Having just received my April R.O. I find that the finance has been found to produce the AGM insert which is of little interest once the AGM has been held, unlike the printed R.O. Index which has a lasting use.

Am I not right in thinking that originally the society adverts extolled non members to join "The Brotherhood of Railwayists" ? Far better than "Trainspotters", a term abused by the riff raff media or "Railfan" who is likely to be found at a train station....bad enough having hundreds of their locomo...
Started spotting in 1953, joined RCTS 1976 hope to continue both until I peg out. At which time I expect there will still be class 20s on the main line even if I live to be 100!
All sorts of rumours used to do the rounds (and still do!) but never heard this one. If there had been any truth we would have heard at Liverpool Street where I used to spot.
