Re: Locked Topics

Don't agree at all.

It is a 'forum'. That is discussion in both directions.

Re: RO Archive

I think you would be surprised how seriously a lot of researchers regard the R.O. information. With a lot of it from railway people themselves, albeit unnamed, the information is often authoritative. (in fact the recent trends toward acknowledging contributors is I think regrettable. It should be do...

Re: RO Archive

An interesting question. I thought the digitising was likely to be an ongoing project but perhaps it has not proved viable? Shame really that such classic and authoritative archives are not so well valued. (I should have all those copies in paper form). I presume the Society holds the copyright howe...

Re: e-mail clent or e-mail service

Peter, Microsoft want you to use web based email accounts and whilst Windows 10 will still interface with WLM, the idea of 'downloading' as you wish no longer seems to be part of their desired package. Re: Doncaster Works lists

Regretably no pre 1975 photos and rarely recorded livery variants in those days despite seeing many in green in the Crimpsall shops during overhaul (and out and about at that time. It wasnt unusual enough to record it then).

Re: COMFORTABLE TRAVELLING?

The 377 and 700s are generally clean but the seats are horrendous. Much preferred the now scruffy/vandalised 319s especially when on the declassified Southern services allowed the use of the first class, although the seats in the second/standard class are still those comfortable cushioned BR types. ...
