Re: RO INDEX

This issue was not raised at the Officers' Conference.
No decision has been made yet regarding an index for 2016.

It should be borne in mind though that in a Society of about 2500 members, less than 90 have asked for the 2015 index so there is some effort for a tiny demand.

Celebrities as Railfans.

We all know newscaster Nicholas Owen as a transport enthusiast.
Bust what about singer Rod Stewart - he is fan of american railroads and has a large layout modelled on a major US city station.

Does anybody know of anyone else?

Re: Dead or Dying Already?

There is also the Society Yahoo Group which means a degree of competition and that the forum will not thrive while both are still running. The market is effectively split.

As we have recently seen. a lot of members are reluctant to change.

Re: Annual General Meeting insert

The AGM insert contains all the reports from the Management Committee that in the past would have been read out by the Secretary at the AGM. To speed up proceedings they are now published beforehand so that all members are communicated with. The Society accounts are part of the reporting that takes ...

Re: Railway Magazine advert

Railfan is more of an Americanism while trainspotter I see as not far short from a term of abuse.

Re: Generational Query

It started in 1962 and I joined the Ian Allan Locospotters Club in January 1963 - I recall receiving a circular plastic badge with a green logo.
For the Southern I think.
