ECML Drag update 14/02

Postby Peter Hall » Tue Feb 14, 2017 11:53 am

Details of locomotives used over the last two weekends have now all been added to the website. It was pleasing to receive reports from other than the regular 'on the scene' observer who we very much depend upon. Interesting though to note that on various other forums, not associated with 'Brtiain's leading railway society', numerous comments were made and sightings given along with photographic links. Fortunately, our regular 'on the scene' observer has equipped himself with the latest technological development which allows images to be stored and passed on - understand this is known as photography. Perhaps as 'Britain's leading railway society' other of its members might so invest and we can reflect better our role as 'Britain's leading railway society'.

Have also added details https://www.rcts.org.uk/branches/sheffi ... 20spring17 of another planned drag this coming Sunday. Interestingly this will traverse the Lincoln Flyover and Up Loversall Chord after leaving Doncaster. Although previous drags have seen Class 67 hauled drags traverse the flyover in the up direction I do not recall one traversing the Up Loversall Chord unless as a result of a failure rather than planned drag. Will anyone be able to catch this event using the newly invented photographic technology.

Not sure which train was pictured by Ian on 22/10/2011 but I am sure our 'on the scene' observer might be help. Unfortunately a picture you have to be careful with as many will have realised.

Thanks as always to those who our contributing.

Thanks.

My pics of the drags at Royston now on flickr, shame that the weather was so grim.

I have more fots of EC HSTs, plus GC and Hull Trains yet to be loaded, which will appear as time permits.

One that perhaps Mister C can answer as it is close to his home batch. Did the northbound (down) diverted trains use the new flyover at Hitchin or go the 'old' way?

I don't know in all instances, but I know that at least one of the drags used the flyover.
