Yes, I thoroughly agree. The Imperial War Museum has a searchable database (http://www.ukniwm.org.uk) of war memorials (including scrolls of honour and books of remembrance) and it amazing how many of these have railway associations. Sadly, several that were known to have existed have been "lost" probably due to station and shed closures as well as rebuilding projects. It could be that some of these still exist but have ended up in private hands or are stored somewhere and have been forgotten. What happened to the WW1 memorial at Manchester Exchange?
