Post by RichardCoulthurst » Tue Apr 07, 2020 4:00 pm

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) report a fall of 95% in the number of passengers using the Metrolink tram system due to the Coronavirus situation. As from Monday, 6th April, 2020 there was a significant change in the service pattern on the network. Trams now run every 20 minutes on all routes throughout the day instead of every 6 or 12 minutes. The service now starts at 6am (7am on Sunday) and ends at 10pm.

The services now running are:
Manchester Airport to Victoria
East Didsbury to Rochdale
Bury to Piccadilly
Altrincham to Piccadilly
Eccles to Ashton-under-Lyne (via Media City)
Cornbrook to inti Trafford Centre

Double trams are running on most lines apart from that to the Trafford Centre where single trams seem to be the norm.

Not Metrolink's fault at all, but it's not a great way to start a new service on a new route (Trafford Centre)!
