Wrexham to Bidston service improvement

Good news for North East Wales:

Through trains to Liverpool on the Borderlands line at last! Standing on Bidston station waiting for a connection is not my idea of fun!

(I responded to this yesterday but the message appears to have got lost - sorry if the same thing appears twice!).

Does this development imply TfW services intermingling with Merseyrail ones through the central Liverpool loop? I can see 'interesting' effects on Merseyrail's performance statistics through importing risks from other areas.

Note sure performance contamination will be a problem - Wrexham-Bidston has (almost) no other traffic so ought to run like clockwork. More interesting is the question of which stock they intend to use. Class 230s are promised (https://www.railtech.com/rolling-stock/ ... dpr=accept) but that article only mentions diesel/battery hybrids and there is no provision for evacuation via an end door (which I presume is a requirement to go round the Liverpool Loop).

Getting the 777s to Wrexham would make far more sense but doesn't sound like a quick solution.
