all nighters

Postby sean136 » Sun Jan 07, 2018 4:32 pm

In the 1980s, two friends and I did an all nighter on Crewe station enjoying the delights of freight and sleeper services. I am wondering whether doing an all nighter is still possible what with security being such a hot topic. Has anyone done an overnight recently?

Personally, not since those years, but I know of people who have.

Obviously security is a problem in our paranoid H&S age nowadays, but I understand that Carlisle is good for variety and provided you warn them in advance, the staff are often accommodating too. That is no guarantee though.

Most places will kick you out after the last train, so you need to be selective.

If you are a member at Freightmaster, try asking on their members only forum for locations and where restrictions are likely to occur.
