Can anyone recommend any books dealing the complex history of Carlisle's Railways?
Any references to serious magazine articles on Carlisle railway history would also be appreciated.

Just seen your post Richard! - Yes - a 1997 Irwell Press volume - Illustrted History of Carlisles Railways by WAC Smith and Paul Anderson - 92 page A4 softback. Probably oop but worth chasing.
