Real Crush Toofew Seats

Post by GRALISTAIR » Thu Jan 31, 2019 7:20 pm

Does anyone remember in the 1980s, RCTS ran a few railtours - I went on at least two of them? Anyway RAIL Enthusiast magazine had a regular article called Railtour Review. The first writer was David Maxey and the second IIRC was Stuart Slane. Anyway, I think Maxey or it could have even been the late Neil Webster in a write-up referred to RCTS Railtours as "Real Crush Toofew Seats"

Not too many RCTS railtours unfortunately, but recall this one, a 4 car TP unit plus a 2 car, so with 6 coaches would doubt a lack of seats!

Maxey often had a way with words ;) if it was his write up.

Railcar website also cites this one as a WR branch railtour

My first RCTS tour was The Mersey Docker - I was crushed but only because a very large person was sat next to me.

My favourite was when we did Buxton and did the single line access road - also had D200 on and a Thornaby Class 37. I forgot the date
